Our philosophy
Law practiced with human beings in mind.
Wren Family Law was built on a simple conviction: that families coming through our
door are not cases to be processed. They are people in the middle of some of the
most difficult moments of their lives. They deserve legal counsel that is excellent
and genuinely kind.
We are a small, senior practice by choice. That means you work directly with the
attorney handling your matter from the first call to the final order. Someone who
knows your story, returns your calls, and never makes you feel like a number.
We know the weight of what you are carrying. Every conversation here starts with listening, not advising.
Clarity at every step
Family law moves quickly and can be confusing. We translate the process into plain language and keep you informed throughout.
Your pace, not ours
There is no pressure to move faster than you are ready for. We follow your lead and respect that this is your life, your family, and your decision.
Conflict as a last resort
We reach for negotiation and mediation first. Litigation is a tool, not the default - outcomes you reach together tend to hold better and hurt less.
The attorneys
People who genuinely care.
A small, senior team by design. You work directly with your attorney from the
first call to the final order. No handoffs, no surprises.

I came in terrified and overwhelmed. By the end of our first meeting I felt like someone was actually on my side. The whole firm treats you like a person, not a case number.
A parent navigating custodyPortland, OR“
They walked us through mediation and we reached an agreement that works for both of us and our kids. I am so glad we did not end up in a courtroom fighting over everything.
A couple who reached a mediated settlementEugene, OR“
The adoption process felt enormous at first. Rosa made every step feel manageable, and she was as happy as we were when the judge signed the papers.

The questions we hear most often from families just starting to navigate family law.
If yours is not here, we are happy to answer it. No commitment required.
Do I need an attorney for a divorce?
You are not legally required to have one, but having counsel almost always leads to better outcomes, especially if children, property, or support are involved. An attorney protects your rights, spots issues you might miss, and ensures agreements are enforceable. Many clients start by simply coming in for a consultation to understand what they are facing.
What is the difference between mediation and a contested divorce?
In mediation, a neutral facilitator helps both parties work toward an agreement they design together. It is typically faster, less expensive, and far less adversarial than contested divorce, where a judge decides the outcome. We often recommend trying mediation first, and we are here if litigation becomes necessary.
How is child custody determined?
Courts apply a "best interest of the child" standard, weighing factors like each parent's relationship with the child, stability, and the child's own preferences at certain ages. Parents can agree on a parenting plan without court involvement, which we generally encourage. We help you build an arrangement that genuinely serves your children.
How much does family law representation cost?
It depends significantly on the complexity of the matter and how much agreement exists between the parties. Uncontested, cooperative cases cost far less than contested litigation. We are transparent about fees from the start and will give you an honest picture of likely costs at your initial consultation.
What if I am worried about my safety or my children's safety?
If there is an immediate safety concern, we can seek an emergency protective order or emergency custody order and move quickly. Please call us directly if you are in this situation. We will make time for you.
Take the first step.
The first conversation is free, confidential, and without obligation. It is simply a
chance to share what you are facing and to see whether we are the right fit for your
family.
